Dr Ahmed Bahi El Din

Dr Ahmed Bahi El Din is director of the book fair in Cairo, head of the Egyptian General Book Authority and professor specializing in oral traditions and folk literature at the Department of Arabic Language, Faculty of Arts at the University of Helwan. Member of the Egyptian Supreme Committee for the Management of Intangible Cultural Heritage. He has written books about, among other things “Al-Sira Al-Hilaliya” in Egypt (an oral Bedouin poem), religious song in traditional Egyptian celebrations and on folk literature, in addition to research published in scholarly journals.
