Nora Dåsnes
Nora Dåsnes is an illustrator and animator educated at Kingston University, London. She made her debut as an author and illustrator with the critically acclaimed graphic novel Ten Knives in the Heart in the spring of 2020. For this book, she was awarded the Pondus Prize and the Ministry of Culture’s Prize for Best Comic Strip. In 2021, the critically acclaimed and award-winning graphic novel Unanswered Call was published, for which Dåsnes won the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize and was awarded the Ministry of Culture’s Prize for best comic strip. Dåsnes also illustrates the toddler series Vesle will also by author Hannah Mileman. Let the forest live! is her third release for children.
Norway has a strong tradition for illustrated children’s books, and at the book fair, Nora Dåsnes will be speaking about the illustrators’ role and position in Norway, as well as discussing visual communication in Norway and Egypt, together with Norwegian and Egyptian illustrators.
Nora Dåsnes participates in the Guest of Honor program under the auspices of the Norwegian Institute for Children’s Books (NBI) – NORLA’s partner in the Guest of Honor project.
