A Dream of Spring / Traum im Frühling – Thank You, Leipzig!

Norway’s Guest of Honour appearance at the Leipzig Book Fair 2025 has come to an end – and it was a resounding success!
Over the course of four days, around 50 Norwegian authors were presented in approximately 80 events in Leipzig. The two main venues for the Norwegian program – the Norwegian stand at the fair and the prestigious Schaubühne Lindenfels – were packed to the brim every single day.

The media coverage in Germany has been overwhelming. Norwegian authors and their books have naturally received great attention, but the media also highlight Norway as a literary nation to be reckoned with.
Just take a look at these headlines:

“The almost perfect literary nation”
(Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: Die norwegische Literatur)

“Why literature from Norway is a success”
(ARD: Gastland: Warum Literatur aus Norwegen so erfolgreich ist)

“Norway is a gift”
(literaturcafé.de: Norwegen ist ein Geschenk!)

“Norway inspires”
(mdr / ARD: Norwegen begeistern als Gastland)

The 2025 Leipziger Buchmesse was a dream come true. NORLA extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped turn that dream into reality – especially the authors and their translators, the Norwegian Publishers Association, the German language publishing houses and the Norwegian literary agents, the Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (NFFO), MUNCH, Sálas, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture and Equality.
