What is the book about?

The Line is the story of Twig, who wants to play. Twig notices that all the other animals in the forest are standing in line. He wants to join them but is told to stand at the back. The game then doesn’t seem that much fun anymore.
The book is in many ways an existential drama about waiting in the forest. We don’t find out why everyone is queuing, what it’s about is the waiting. It is an open narrative in which you might find space for your own experience, thoughts and ideas. It might give you something to ponder over, or get irritated by, and maybe something you will be surprised by.

What inspired you to write this book?

I have wanted to make my own children’s book for a long time, and now was a good time to do it. Doing it all on my own for the first time has been both scary and exciting, but it’s also one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.
