Thank you, Leipzig Book Fair 2026!
We will always like to remain Guest of Honour to some degree: Norway was once again able to present its literature widely during the Leipzig Book Fair, and, as in the previous year, was met with great interest from the public.

Following Norway’s Guest of Honor appearance last year, NORLA was able to build on its strong visibility in Leipzig again in 2026: a total of 13 authors made sure that Norway was present at the Leipzig Book Fair as well as at numerous venues across the city – including the Grieg-Begegnungsstätte, Schaubühne Lindenfels, Werk 2, and “Wolle von der Scholle.”

Audience favorites such as Erika Fatland and Trude Teige presented their books newly translated into German. At the same time, new voices like Bibi Fatima Musavi and Maria Navarro Skaranger enriched the program, while established authors such as Frode Grytten, Kathrine Nedrejord, Brit Bildøen, Line Baugstø, and Ørjan N. Karlsson contributed to its literary diversity.

Thematically, the program ranged from Norway’s only female Nobel Prize laureate in literature, Sigrid Undset, to the great Norwegian passion for knitting (with Ebba Drolshagen), and even to child-friendly explorations of the Big Bang with Reidar Müller and Sigbjørn Lilleeng.

Overall, the program offered a diverse picture of contemporary literature from Norway, and was once again met with great interest from enthusiastic audiences.
