In collaboration with the Frankfurt Book Fair’s New York office and the Norwegian Consulate in New York, NORLA is organizing a seminar for American publishers to mark Norway as a Guest of Honour at the Frankfurter Buchmesse. Three publishers publishers will talk about publishing translated literature: Richard Stoiber of German Matthes & Seitz, Peter Blackstock of American Grove Atlantic and Håkon Harket of Norwegian Press Publishers. The author of Buzz, Sting, Bite: Why We Need Insects, Anne Sverdrup-Tygeson, will also participate.

The Writers’ Guild of Norway (in Norwegian: Dramatikerforbundet) may award grants for the translation of Norwegian dramatic works to other languages. The primary purpose of the grant scheme is to contribute to the presentation/production of Norwegian drama abroad.
This year’s Gothenburg Book Fair takes place on September 25–29, with drama as one of its main focuses. The Norwegian Centre for New Playwriting – NCNP (Dramatikkens hus) will be participating, hosting an exciting program of Norwegian events.
