Easter Holidays in NORLA
Our office is closed for the Easter holidays as of Monday, April 14. We will be back on Tuesday, April 22.
The Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University in Belgrade is organizing an exhibition of Nordic children’s and YA literature translated into Serbian from October 2nd to 8th. They are hosting several smaller events in connection with the exhibition, including panel discussions, book launches, and lectures for students. One of the collaborators is the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
On Thursday, October 3rd, NORLA’s Andrine Pollen will participate in a panel discussion on Nordic children’s and YA literature alongside Nina Christensen from the University of Aarhus and the Swedish children’s book author and illustrator Sara Lundberg. She will also give a lecture to students at the Department of Scandinavian Studies on Friday, October 4th.

NORLA aims to recruit more translators of Norwegian Literature. We look forward to welcoming interested participants to take part in our seminar for new translators, which will be held in Oslo from April 23-26, 2025.
NORLA annually hands out an award to a talented emerging translator of Norwegian literature. The award is given for translations directly from Norwegian as an encouragement towards continued efforts.
The 2025 award will be given to a translator of fiction.
