NORLA at the Jaipur Literary Festival and the Delhi World Book Fair

NORLA is once again taking part in the Jaipur Literature Festival, “the world’s grandest literary show,” which takes place from 15 to 19 January.
It is said to be the world’s largest free literary festival, with an overwhelming number of authors, participants, and visitors from India and all over the world. From Norway, Anne Beate Hovind from the Future Library and Ivo de Figueiredo are participating. He will also go on to the literature festival in Kerala.

A side programme at the literature festival is the industry meeting BookMark, where publishers and book professionals from across India and other countries meet to discuss industry issues, present and pitch books, and more. Oliver Møystad from NORLA will speak about Norwegian children’s and young adult literature in conversation with Truda Spruyt from the communications agency Collective Wisdom in London. There will also be opportunities to present Norwegian books and authors to the Indian publishing industry.

Along the way, NORLA will visit the Delhi World Book Fair to take part in the launch of Kjell Askildsen’s short story collection En plutselig frigjørende tankein in Hindi. The book is being published by Sambhavna Prakashan (ed. Teji Grover), and the stories have been translated via English by Abhishek Agarwal and others.
