Jon Fosse. A Poet on The Earth of God

Jon Fosse. Poet på guds jord

Jon Fosse is enjoying a unique success both in Norway and abroad with his plays for the theatre, and is at present the most widely played contemporary playwright in Europe.
In this portrait, we get a close-up of this shy but genius declared writer. Journalist Cecilie Seiness has had numerous conversations with Jon Fosse on his life, art and writing. She introduces Fosse’s oeuvre in a way that is easy to understand, and conveys the story of an extraordinary talent with an unshakeable faith in his own writing.

The book follows Fosse from his early years with guitar and dance bands in the small village of Strandebarm on the Norwegian west coast, to cocktail parties in Paris, from the twelve-year old’s secret writer’s den to the big theatres in Europe.
