Polly-Esther and the washing machine incident
Polly-Esther i trommeltrøbbel
Polly-Esther is the heroine of – so far – four books, including Polly-Esther and the Monster (2010), Polly-Esther at the Monsters’ Party (2011), Polly-Esther at the Rubbish Dump (2012) and Polly-Esther and the Washing Machine Incident (2013).
Polly-Esther has got a monster of her own – not a great big one, that would scare off school bullies and horrible dogs. No, Polly-Esther’s monster is very little, so small, in fact, that Polly-Esther herself has to be big and strong to protect it.
In the first volume, little Lo becomes Polly-Esther’s true companion. In the second volume, Polly-Esther at the Monsters’ Party, Polly and little Lo are invited to a party held by Lo’s monster family. A catastrophe right from the beginning, and it gets worse. In Polly-Esther at the Rubbish Dump, Polly’s father, in a sudden urge to tidy up the house, sends the old chest, through which Polly and Lo get access to Lo’s family, off to the rubbish dump. Polly and Lo have to retrieve the chest and bring it back.
Polly-Esther’s dad seems to be constantly busy washing and cleaning. In Polly-Esther and the Washing Machine Incident, he decides to do the beds. All the bed clothes go into the washing machine, including Polly’s pyjamas. How was he to know that little Lo was fast asleep in the pyjama pocket? Polly-Esther is devastated. Who can help save her best friend?
