Bendik and Maria are both nine years old and live next to each other. Bendik is good at football and Maria is a fast runner. The first day back at school after the holiday, Maria’s dog disappears. Even though he’s afraid of dogs, Bendik has to help look for it. Then Bendik’s little brother has been taken captive by a gang of older boys. Bendik suddenly has to do some things he’s never dared to do before. And Maria has to run faster than she’s ever done.

Sverre Henmo has a university degree in sociology and lives in Oslo. He made his literary début in 1999 with Sammen er vi én og én (Together We are One and One). Since then he has written two novels, two novels for youth and four children’s books.
