“XXL A Maximalist Novel about Life, Love and the Big Pike /
XXL En maksimalistisk roman om livet, kjærligheten og den store gjedda”

Bud Martin is size XXL and happy with it. On the other hand, there are a number of other things that he is struggling with, for example, Jerry “the whisk,” his cousin who is paying a summer visit. Bud just has to capitulate and try to make use of Jerry’s surplus energy as best as he can. Not only do they have to paint the house – also size XXL – but Jerry is determined that they will catch the giant Pike during that week as well. Nevertheless, the biggest challenge is the report Bud has to write for the school psychologist. If he doesn’t give a good explanation for what happened when he set fire to the gym, he can forget about school.

A wry, sensitive, funny and touching story about being XXL, and still feel invisible. It is about finally being able to be yourself, and to allow yourself to feel and hope. For example that something can happen between the super fisher, Maggie, and Bud.

The novel is written with true storytelling joy, inspired by great American literature such as Thoreau’s “Walden”, Melville’s “Moby Dick” and Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road”.
