Christopher Pahle and Allan Grønseth Ohr - Selected Title Authors
We are happy to present our selected title author Christopher Pahle, who has written Milo’s Universe 2. Revenge of the Houseplants (original title: Milos univers – Potteplantenes hevn). The book is illustrated by Allan Grønseth Ohr, and it is one of NORLA’s Selected Titles of the spring 2025.

What is your book about?
As with so many things in life, the inspiration for Revenge of the Houseplants bloomed from a soil rich in shame and guilt. I must admit—I have far too many houseplant deaths on my conscience. Driven by this guilt, I started imagining: What if these neglected plants—thanks to, say, some kind of extraterrestrial fertilizer—grew to colossal dimensions, developed both intelligence and a thirst for blood, and became obsessed with getting revenge on the people who had caused them so much suffering? Meaning, of course, us humans! Where would we land on the food chain then?
So yes, Milo’s Universe 2: Revenge of the Houseplants is based on a completely true story—except for the parts I made up to make it more exciting.
Who is this book for?
The Milo’s Universe books are perfect for anyone who has ever dreamed of having a two-meter-tall, slightly unhinged space rabbit in their attic—one who drags them into all sorts of wild misadventures. In other words, most of us! It’s a book for both independent readers and those who like being read to. Allan’s fantastic illustrations bring the story to life, too; every page is packed with madness and tiny hidden details.

What is your book about?
When I read the first draft of the very first Milo’s Universe book, it was immediately clear that Christopher and I shared a lot of the same influences and inspirations. The story was fun, charming, absurd, and silly, and I could instantly imagine all the wild adventures Milo could take these kids on. Action, monsters, sci-fi, horror, and humor—basically, everything I love to draw! Each new manuscript has been even more intense and exciting than the last, and with The Revenge of the Houseplants, I got to really let loose and have fun with my illustrations. The entire Milo’s Universe series has been an absolute dream project for me!
Who is this book for?
To be honest, I think just about anyone. Sure, a few of the monsters might be a little scary for the youngest readers, but Milo’s Universe has something for everyone. At its heart, these are stories about four friends (and a grok) going on wild adventures—bickering a little, getting themselves into crazy situations, but ultimately caring about each other and having a blast. I think most readers will find something to relate to in that!
