Crown Princess Mette-Marit is an ambassador for Norwegian literature abroad and participated in last year’s Frankfurter Buchmesse. Now the Crown Princess has written a Christmas letter to 2,540 booksellers in Germany.

In her letter, she thanks the many enthusiastic booksellers, who contributed to a successful Guest of Honour year which included over 200 readings in bookstores across Germany. The passion, courtesy and warmth that the Crown Princess and Norwegian literature was received with last year, is now being reflected in the stories we are hearing from Germany – such as booksellers who are cycling around delivering books to customers during the pandemic. “I got to experience this genuine passion for literature and reading – when I went down the few steps to the Pankebuch bookstore in Berlin and visited the Ludwig bookstore in Cologne,” writes the Crown Princess in her Christmas letter.

We hope the booksellers appreciate this small token of appreciation during this difficult time.
