What is the book about?

This is a story about growing up with a brain that’s all over the place. Herman’s thoughts and actions were moving in the fast lane from the very beginning. The book deals with what it’s like to have an undiagnosed condition for 18 years and always trying to compensate for that.

What inspired you to write this book?

A couple of years ago Herman, who is a well-known comedian and actor, knocked on my door and asked me to write a book about his life. I said sure, why the hell not? Over a series of meetings, I got to know an incredibly honest and lovely guy who has learned to deal with his brain’s constant ability to surprise everyone – himself included.

Who is this book for?

This book is for everyone who feels or has felt different and stigmatized in some way.
