Under the motto “What if”, Norway will showcase the creativity and diversity of Norwegian children’s and young adult literature through a broad programme of author events, professional seminars, and exhibitions during the fair in Bologna from 13–16 April.

The theme “What if” reflects the spirit of curiosity and imagination that characterises Norwegian literature for young readers. It invites children and adults alike to question the familiar and explore new perspectives.

A total of 23 Norwegian authors and illustrators will participate in the literary programme, including names such as Maria Parr, Øyvind Torseter, Stian Hole and Maja Lunde.

Norway’s presence in Bologna will also include four exhibitions, highlighting the strength of Norwegian illustration. The main exhibition will present works by 49 Norwegian illustrators, exploring the theme “What if” through visual storytelling.

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the world’s leading international meeting place for children’s publishing.
