Publishers and agencies
The largest publishing houses in Norway are Cappelen Damm, Gyldendal, Aschehoug, Universitetsforlaget and Bonnier Norsk Forlag. Other key publishing houses in the Norwegian book industry are Vigmostad & Bjørke, Oktober, Pax, Kagge and Samlaget.
In Norway one also finds a rich abundance of small presses and growth in the number of newly established publishers. In 2021 all of 7,799 new titles and editions were published by Norwegian publishers that are members of the Norwegian Publishers Association.
