For agents and publishers
Travel grants for Norwegian authors and lecturers invited to attend (digital) festivals, book launches/author presentations abroad
NORLA offers funding for book launch trips and author presentations abroad.
NORLA has also been commissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to administrate a limited annual amount to be allocated to Norwegian authors who have been invited to festivals or conferences abroad.
Due to the corona situation, it is currently difficult to invite Norwegian authors to international festivals, launches and other events abroad. Foreign publishers, festival organizers and other parties who wish to create digital events with Norwegian authors can therefore apply for support for webinars, podcasts, interviews in the form of film recordings etc. It is also possible to apply for support for advertising and publicity of author and literature programs in digital media.
Please use the standard application form, without filling in travel details.
There is no application deadline.
The funding will normally cover airline tickets (economy class).
Information about funding awarded by NORLA shall appear in the information about the event, along with NORLA’s logo (download it here).
Applications must be sent by the organiser from the foreign country at least one month ahead of the planned event, by using the application form (below).
Applications are processed year-round in monthly meetings (no deadline).
After the event the organiser shall send a short report to NORLA with a summary of the event, the number of participants, etc. and preferably also photos (please use the form below).
Other funding available
NORLA also administrates funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Norwegian authors/lecturers travelling on visits to institutions of higher learning abroad where the Norwegian language is taught.
