Application deadline: NORLA's Translators hotel spring 2018

February 15 is the application deadline for translators of Norwegian literature regarding stays at NORLA’s Translators hotel spring 2018 (weeks 16-17, i.e. as of Monday April 16th through Sunday April 29th).
Please note that the offer is only available for translators who translate directly from Norwegian.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have in previous years contributed towards the scheme.

Leipzig, Germany

Norway is Guest of Honour at the Leipziger Buchmesse: more than 50 authors take part

We have been looking forward to this for several years, and finally it is happening:
Norwegian literature will be in the spotlight during the book fair in Leipzig, and also at the reading festival Leipzig liest (Leipzig Reads) which runs parallel, in venues all around the city.

The Norwegian Guest of Honour program comprises approx. 80 events that will take place at Norway’s stand in Hall 4 D 300 / C 301, and at the Norwegian Hub in Schaubühne Lindenfels.
In addition, there will be several other exciting literary and cultural events as part of various side programs.

Seminar for aspiring translators of Norwegian literature

NORLA aims to recruit more translators of Norwegian Literature. We look forward to welcoming interested participants to take part in our seminar for new translators, which will be held in Oslo from April 23-26, 2025.

Deadline: Nominate candidates for NORLA’s Translator's Award 2025

NORLA annually hands out an award to a talented emerging translator of Norwegian literature. The award is given for translations directly from Norwegian as an encouragement towards continued efforts.
The 2025 award will be given to a translator of fiction.
