Water Lily on the Sea
Vannlilje på havet
A girl living a happy and peaceful life in her hometown is forced to flee when war breaks out. Her name is Nilofar – Water Lily. Just like the flower, her roots run deep, but suddenly she finds herself on the open sea, in an open boat with strangers, on a dangerous journey to an unknown land. Many children and young people around the world are forced to flee from war and violence, often alone without their parents or other relatives. How can they adapt to a new life situation, deprived of their emotional and physical safety? This story is an attempt to strengthen awareness of this issue and provide a starting point for talking about the situation of refugees.
The book is illustrated by Narges Mohammadi.
