Good vibes in Lillehammer

This year’s Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer, the largest literature festival in the Nordic region, saw the much anticipated physical opening of the newly established rights center, Lillehammer Rights.

Left: International translators meeting their Norwegian colleagues. Right: Booksellers from the UK and Germany visiting the Norli bookstore in Lillehammer.

At NORLA, we thoroughly enjoyed returning to Lillehammer after two years of pandemic, and especially to be able to welcoming several groups to the festival and to NORLA’s own program:
29 international publishers, editors, sub-agents and scouts took part in our fellowship program
14 translators enjoyed the rich festival program and met their Norwegian colleagues
6 British and German booksellers took part in our specially prepared program
2 journalists from Great Britain and Portugal took part in our press program, in cooperation with the festival and the Norwegian embassies in London and Lisboa, respectively

And best of all: we got the opportunity to introduce all the guests not only to exciting contemporary authors and illustrators from Norway and the literary agents taking part in Lillehammer Rights, but also to each other.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to our wonderful guests and authors, and also a big tank you to the festival for great cooperation!
