Burned

Skinndød

A first time crime novel with success: Translation rights sold to 23 countries.
A lone tent on the Ekeberg Plain in Oslo contains the half buried corpse of a woman. She has been stoned to death, has whip marks on her back, and one hand has been chopped off. Internet journalist Henning Juul lost his son in a fire two years ago. He’s back on the job again now, and is assigned the Ekeberg case. It doesn’t take the police long to come up with a suspect, but Juul quickly realizes that the whole case is far more complicated. In his quest for answers he catches the attention of some brutal individuals. When a new murder is committed, it dawns on Juul that he better find the truth before even more lives are lost. Including his own.

Burned is the first in a series of 5 books about the journalist Henning Juul.

“Burned is a significant acquisition for Faber’s growing crime list. It is a novel that combines the thrill of the best page-turner, with a deep psychological portrait of this wonderful character Henning Juul.”
