At NORLA we will close for the Christmas holidays as from Monday, December 19.

NORLA to meet Nordic colleagues at the Faroe Islands
Representatives from NORLA’s staff will be attending a seminar with our Nordic colleagues – members of the NordLit network – January 18-20.
The employees at the Nordic literary offices meet annually, and this year the meeting will take place in Torshavn, on the Faroe Islands.
We look forward to exchanging experiences and future plans with our colleagues!
Norwegian authors and NORLA in Jaipur, India
NORLA is again participating in the Jaipur Literary Festival, ‘The world’s grandest literary show’!
This is said to be the world’s largest free literary festival, with an overwhelming number of writers, participants and audiences from India and the rest of the world. From Norway, authors Kristin Roskifte and Kjell Ola Dahl are participating.

Application deadline: Participate at the Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer
NORLA invites foreign publishers, editors, sub-agents and scouts of Children’s and Young Adults literature to apply for our fellowship program at the Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer, 23 – 26 May 2023.
You will get introduced to outstanding children’s and young adults authors and illustrators from Norway, get an introduction to Norwegian children’s literature and have meetings with literary agents in the Rights Centre.
The fellowship is partly financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As in previous years, NORLA would also like to invite translators of Norwegian literature to Lillehammer in connection with the Norwegian Festival of Literature. For up to ten participants, NORLA will cover travel expences, board and lodging from Tuesday 23 until Friday 26 May.
The scheme can only be applied for by those who translate directly from Norwegian.

NORLA's translator conference
26-28 June 2023, NORLA is hosting a large-scale conference for translators of literature from Norway, at Lily Country Club, Kløfta.
For the first time, translators who wish to participate in the conference have be invited to apply. The deadline was 28 November and all applicants will receive response in early January.
We will invite 150 translators who will be chosen to reflect the position and dissemination of literature from Norway in the different language markets, and also contribute to the recruitment of new translators of Norwegian literature.
The conference is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
